Star sport’s signed Ranveer Singh
Star Sports, owned by The Walt Disney Company India, has appointed Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as the brand ambassador of the company. This is an important step for the brand as it seeks to tap into Singh's huge popularity and love for sports to reach out to a diverse audience that is not into sports. Singh will act as the "sutradhaar" or legend for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which the organization calls "Powerful Teams". He will also be involved in content creation for the IPL, which is slated to begin on March 31
Apart from his role as the brand ambassador of Star Sports, Ranveer Singh will also be involved in advertisements for other sports that will be aired on the network. These events include the World Test Championship, Premier League, Pro Kabaddi, Asia Cup, and ICC Cricket World Cup.
Recently, Singh was named as the most popular candidate to be supported in 2022, according to a report by Kroll, a research and consulting firm. He surpassed Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, who held the title for the past few years. Singh's net worth rose to $181.7 million, while Kohli's net worth fell to $179.6 million. The Kohli brand has been in decline for two years, especially after he stepped down as the captain of the Indian men's cricket team. In 2020, Kohli's net worth was $237.7 million, which dropped by 21% in 2021 to $185.7 million.
