The allegation comes as the New York attorney general is considering indicting Trump in connection with the bribe paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, but there has been no official announcement of any plans to file an indictment.
Trump has been implicated in several criminal investigations, but the case involving Daniels is the longest running of them all, dating back to 2016.

On his platform, "Truth Social," Trump said on Saturday morning that "illegal leaks" indicated he would be arrested on Tuesday, and continued his call for protests.
Trump's attorney Susan Neglis told NPR that Trump's speculation was "based on media reports" and condemned prosecutors for withholding information from Trump's attorney.

"Since this is a political process, the Attorney General's Office has adopted the practice of leaking everything to the press, instead of communicating with President Trump's attorney, as it does in normal cases," Nichelis said in a statement.
The Manhattan district attorney's office declined to comment on whether it will soon seek an arrest warrant for Trump.

But the Associated Press reported that law enforcement officials in New York are discussing security preparations in anticipation of Trump's sentencing in the coming weeks.

If that happens, Trump will become the first former president to be impeached in US history.

Despite Trump's speculation about an arrest warrant, Stephen Cheung, a spokesman for the Trump campaign, said the former president hopes to show up in Texas next weekend for a rally.
